Welcome to the Family Portfolio Updates 2025!

This portfolio remains to be a living archive of our family’s history, milestones, and cherished memories. My goal is to keep our legacy alive by documenting our stories and providing a space where family members can contribute, connect, and reflect.

Portfolio Update

Unfortunately, this past month has been a rough one for me—I’ve been dealing with a lingering cough, sore throat, and just not feeling my best. I got tested for every virus available, and thankfully, all results came back negative. But… what’s the problem? Still trying to figure that out, but I’m feeling much better now!

That said, we can’t let this moment pass without recognizing that our very own RDML Felicia Collins has officially retired—and it is so well deserved! While I’m thrilled for her, I can’t help but feel a little uneasy and sad knowing that we no loner have that close eye watching over us.

Speaking of things to watch… Did anyone catch the hearings with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.? OMG. Need I say more? I won’t get into politics (because, honestly, what can I do except endure it?), so I’ll just focus on finding something else to watch—besides The Apprentice! 😆

Congratulations again, Felicia! Aunt Rosiland shared a link for those who may have missed the retirement ceremony, that I’ll also include here in case someone else missed it. It was truly a special event.

My daughter, Laurie, is officially enrolled in college this season! She’s pursuing her associate degree to advance her career and adding to her certifications in medical billing & coding within a hospital or administrative setting. She’s excited, motivated, and we’re all incredibly proud of her! 🙏

Big Changes Ahead!

We’re in the process of trying to sell our home and moving to Delaware—these taxes are breaking the bank! 🏦 That bi-annual party might have to become tri-annual if something doesn’t give soon. 😁 But hey, I know how to throw a great BYOBB (Bring Your Own Brown Bag) party too! LOL 🫶

Individual Pages

If you have five or more photos and would like to create a page about yourself and your family, this is the place to start! I only ask that you provide a short bio—after that, anything goes!

Individual pages are organized under the Family Portfolio hierarchy. For example, my page can be found under William Eugene Goodson > Alicia Goodson > My children’s subpages, and so on.

About Us

Descendants of Henry Rufus Goodson & the Goodson Legacy as We Know It!
This section details the lineage of Henry Rufus Goodson and Susie Lewis Goodson, as well as Sarah Hall Goodson. This documentation was originally compiled by the Family Reunion Committee in 2006.

We’re honored to include a new submission from Athena Groves, granddaughter of Hubert "Bud" Goodson, who has contributed a new page: Isaiah Daniel Curtis Goodson. Her individual page soon to come.

Special Events

This section is open to anyone who wants to submit photos of their special events or browse what’s been happening in the family.

To create a page, I ask that you submit at least five photos.
You can also request a group page for events like Christmas, Thanksgiving, charity events, church gatherings, reunions, etc.

If you have an idea or photos you'd like to share, send them over—I’ll make sure they fit perfectly in the portfolio!

Obituaries

Like it or not, this section serves as a meaningful tribute to the legends who came before us and provides valuable historical details for future generations.

If your family member has moved on and is not included, please forward their obituary to me so that I can included and with any photo.
If you are among the living (smile!), consider submitting a bio or résumé to help identify your individual page if please.

Remembering the Voices

It is my hope to feature video uploads on this page—both past and present—to keep our family's voices alive.

Currently, I have two videos uploaded:

A video of my grandson, who has non-verbal autism—when I watch this video it sures makes me wonder.
A video of my Aunt Geraldine, sharing her wishes at a celebration for my sister Pamela.
Unlcle Louis also giving a toast. The link is broken, I will try to have fixed next update.

A Gentle Reminder:

I do my best to edit, organize, and update photos from events or my personal library. While participation is completely optional, I think we can all agree that it’s important to at least complete the basics as a family, and help take the guesswork out for me when possible.

I can edit and add titles (with help from my friend/Aunt Rosiland), but I need the basics to work with!
There’s no pressure to submit extra photos, but it would be great to include a short introduction to your family in the Remembering the Voices section as well.
I have a video of my Dad that I’m eager to upload soon.
