When I decided to move to MD around the age of 24, pursuing an opportunity to work in Georgetown, & make $$$ huh, enough money to leave NY, I did.
In my pursuit to take advantage of this opportunity to work in Georgetown, Louis faithfully picked me up from the airport every other weekend, during which I traveled the Red Eye in my search. He also generously opened his home to me, driving me around from town to town. Accompanying me on apartment-hunting trips until I found the perfect one.
Louis's Distinctive Strut Became A Goodson Signature:
He educated me that "Goodson" was more than a last name—it was his persona. He was the first person in my life to make me recognize what it truly meant to be a Goodson & I was filled up with Goodson Pride.
He played a significant role & force in the family reunions, working alongside Harriet [Pushing] & [Pushing] & keeping the idea up in our heads always!!! Their closeness was evident, and they often discussed the details with enthusiasm. Hanging out at her piano and making plans. The report got back; the Family Reunion is on! I was like Uncle Louis for real? I have proof. He took me to Aunt Harriett's (no lie). I sat on her piano bench, right next to her.. lol. We did not talk about family reunions or anything else. Yo, I was happy to be sitting next to Aunt Harriett. I had never been there before, I didn't care. I let her and him go back & forth while I played chopped sticks and admired her and her beautiful house. And thinking in my mind who does she look most like? Daddy, Aunt Gerri? It was Uncle Bobby for sure in my eyes site!
He was a travel buddy at attended most bowling tournaments crab feasts, and other events, lots of good times and memories!
